02 Jayco awning setup

I have been looking on the net for information on setting up my awning on my 02. Everything shows the lower leg attached to the coach side. Mine appears to be made to set on the ground for the lower leg. The brand of awning is a carefree. Need help. Stan

The legs can be placed on the ground but most owners leave them attached to the side of the RV.

I have the same type of awning on my 05 eagle, and depending on the layout of the site, I'll typically set the front leg on the ground with a tent peg holding it in place, and leave the back one on the side of the camper. I got tired of getting closelined in the dark coming back to my campsite lol

Normal use is with leg attached to coach, with legs on ground is what Carefree refers to as carport setup. I have original manual in my 01 Eagle, if you want I can take pictures of the manual for you. Carefree website also has manuals available for download.
