'06 Seneca Sewer Tanks

Ok... So we took the new-to-us 2006 Seneca out for her maiden voyage this weekend. The black tank sewer line is flat for a good foot or so. It seems to drain quite slowly and makes me wonder if it ever fully drains with this setup? Any suggestions or experiences?

I wondered if I need a macerating pump to help clear the tank.

In addition, the black tanks smelled pretty awful. Need to check the vent cap to make sure it is not clogged, but I did wonder if the tank might have a layer of poo on the bottom that can't drain out.

try to camp on a site with full hook up. Fill the black tank to near full and let sit. Then drain it and do this a couple times. When your all done and ready to come home, drain your black tank then put 3-4 gallons of water in it and leave a little in your toilet. Drop some sanitizer in there and you will be ready to go next trip
