Additionally, many/ most now have 2x 12vdc outlets (maybe more), one that turns OFF w/ ignition switch, 1 that stays hot.

I've got 3 I think on the dash and one in the glove box, all seem hot all the time.

Greyhawk 29ME same problem

On our 2016 Jayco Grehawk 29ME the 12 volt dash outlets are connected to the engine battery and not the house battery bank. This is good in a way because when we store or park our rig, I just disconnect the engine battery and I have eliminated the drain of the Jensen radio and the auto step retract circuit. Note: These are the only two battery draining items that I found that will not work when there is no engine battery supply. Of course all the cab powered items will not work including the 12 volt plugs in the dash.

In the past I have used a trickle charger and a solar charger plugged into the dash 12 volt plugs. This extended the life of the engine battery but not indefinitely. Possibly due to the low amount of current being supplied.

Instead of permanently installing the item as previously discussed, we decided to buy a new class A and trade this problem in.

Although a bit on the extreme side, I have to admit, this is probably one solution I hadn't thought about.

The trik-l-start was $50 and in the end, trying it in one spot and moving it to another took maybe 30-45 minutes of my time in total.

The dash outlets being powered from the chassis battery being the issue, how about just running a wire from the house battery side of the aux start solenoid to these outlets?

Maybe even get creative and add a toggle switch to select which power source....

Ours are drawing from the chassis battery. I have run down the chassis battery by leaving the GPS and the TireMonitor plugged in while the coach sat at home for weeks or months. Even with the the coach plugged in to house power. A word to the wise!

Add a Trik-L-Start and never again have to deal with a discharged battery!
