'15 Seneca FS Bedroom Slide Misalign

Returned home from my most recent trip yesterday and while unloading from one of the rear storage bays, I realized the bedroom slide wasn't all the way in. It appears to be flush at the top and lower front corners, but the rear lower corner is hanging out about 3".

Called Jayco this morning, and I am out of warranty by 2 months.. so I would love to figure this out on my own and save some $.

Did some searching and found mentions of "re-timing" the siide and manually adjusting, but didn't find any details on how to perform any of this.

Any ideas on where to start and what to look for?

Have a trip planned for two weekends from now, really want to get this figured out ASAP.

Thanks in advance for any help!

There is a you tube video on this. It involves opening and closing three times to about 8-10 inches as I recall. Search Lippert Slides.

Ours is scheduled to have the rear slide motor of the rear slide replaced tomorrow morning. Ours is also out of warranty, so we'll see what it cost. It is a Schwintek slide motor and it had to be custom built. Slide motor mechanism had to be removed partially to get the serial number off of it. Thought that was strange, but MH2GO techs said they will not build a new one without having the Serial Number of the particular unit. This was done about 3 weeks ago and is about a 2 hour job. Quite interesting to watch how the guys did it. Ours is breaking down, but still functional. All the work is being done by Motor Homes to Go, in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.

Stay tuned.

Thanks everyone!

Had luck after watching the youtube video(s) retiming everything and getting the slideout squared up again. I think I figured out that the comforter on the bed was touching the floor just enough to get stuck under the slide for the last few inches as it came in, and that's what got things out of sync. Lesson learned.

rgolding, please let me know how your replacement motor goes and the cost. This is something I have always been concerned with, so I would like to be prepared.

Now to do some research on how to manually move the slides in case they ever get stuck out.. I know I should have learned it years ago. I guess better late then never.

Okay, we are back together and getting ready to be underway this morning. Arrived at MH2GO at 0730. Guys in the shop got on the project immediately and we were out of there by 1300. They had to replace the slide mechanism and controller. The parts were $1412.05 and labor was $556.00. Out of warranty, so it was out of our pocket. Not cheap, but the cost of what we do, slinging ourselves down the Interstates at hurricane speed and staying in places we enjoy.

Absolute confidence in MH2GO in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They know their equipment and what is needed to keep us on the road. I'm amazed at how much better the slide sits, I guess I got used to it being out of alignment. Service Manager felt the controller failing may have started the whole problem.

In hind site, it may have been worthwhile to address this before warranty ran out. Obviously it would have saved us some money, but was told that if we had had the extended warranty it would have had to have had an extra rider on it to cover the slide problem.

We've been on the road almost constantly for 3 years, this October and I believe the extended warranty would have cost more than this repair cost.
All of LIFE is a gamble and I still feel not getting the extended warranty was a good decision.

The rear "in wall" Shwintech is a POS mechanism. I would love to replace mine with something else entirely.
