1989 Jay Mini

Hello,
I have this unit and we are renovating it. Couple of questions please..

I'd like to get rid of the catalytic heater - does anyone have knowledge how to do this?

Also I need a few parts and can't find any place that sells them. I went to a RV junkyard in CO and basically it was junk. I'm looking for the outside handle plastic that goes over the light but now I'm thinking I could just replace it with just a handle with no light. The current one will bite you as you try to use it.

Thank you
LueyD

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State! We'll need a bit more information on your Jayco. Is it a class C motorhome, and which model number? I know what a catalytic heater is, but have never seen one in a camper, that was a factory installation. Could it have been installed by a previous owner?

And lastly, does the lighted grab handle look like this one?

Hello and thank you for the welcome

It says on the unit Jayco Designer Series 26 JAYMINI and yes it is a Class C

Yes indeed that is the handle. We are missing the white plastic part.

I believe that after I looked at it - it was an after market heater. It covers a furnace vent, no way would the manufacturer do that.....

Thank you,

LueyD

You're welcome. The part number for that lens is Bargman #74-32-030, but they discontinued the handle and lens quite a while ago. Amazon has one that is suppose to fit. I don't know the quality of it.

A genuine Bargman lens is also available, at considerably more money.
