2006 Seneca 35GS- upgrade TV

Looking at a mod for my Seneca.
I have a 2006 35 GS. Front entertainment centre has old school tube TV; looking to upgrade to flat screen. Has anyone out there modified there front entertainment centre? Encounter any problems?

My plan is to modify the middle section of cabinet only. If you have this unit or similar, there are two cupboards on each side, with the tv in the middle (protrudes about 9 inches).

Would be looking to have the entertainment centre flush across the front, with flat screen mounted on tv mount that would allow moving out for viewing.

This will require disassembly of centre portion; I can see screws from both inside the cabinet and underneath the cabinet (where single bunk slides). A possible Hangup is the bottom deck. Of the entertainment centre. It is built up about 2" with unknown build structure beneath.

Before I start ripping this apart, looking for some advice if you have done this.

Thanks

Our '08 35GS had the tube TV in the center opening before it was removed along with the accent frame and a 32" flat panel mounted on two wood cross pieces.
The frame was removed to allow viewing of the entire screen from the living area but ours is stationary.

We also replaced the bedroom TV with a 24" flat panel using the existing bracket.

That's a good approach as well. If I understand you correctly, your TV would then be essentially inside the previous opening. Do you happen to have a picture or two of how it looks?

We don't have a complete, full view picture on hand today but can take one tomorrow.

So it was a previous owner or looks like maybe some shop's handiwork and what they did was remove everything that was there with the old flat panel and screwed in a couple of 1x8"s vertical left and right, to a couple of 1x2"s horizontal top and bottom, to create a 'mounting frame' and hold the original flat panel mount to attach the new 32" TV.

We took a picture of the rear as best we could through the fake speaker panels that sit on the sides but in such a confined space it didn't come out with any real detail and we didn't know if it would be useful.

But here is a picture of what the 32" TV looks like in place and it's set back about six inches from the front. They also placed a couple of 1x3"s along the front both top and bottom screwed to the 1x8"s to create a 'finished look', fill the gaps, and painted them black.

I have an 06 35GS also with a full entertainment center, but my tube TV was in the right side. I took it out and installed a 40" flat screen. The way it swivel's at all angles I can still get into any door or drawer.

That is a huge screen!
We also like the magazine racks and hat hooks. Do the racks clear the slide?
We have installed additional racks (toilet room) and hooks in the hallway but never would have thought about hanging ones on the cab divider. A clever use of space!

No clearance issue at all. I think we got the rack at Hobby Lobby, I've seen similar ones elsewhere.

Thanks gents for both options. My unit is identical to the 2008seneca, but I think between the two set ups I can make it work. Appreciate the assistance.

PS. I found similar type hooks as Krappa provided above at Walmart.. great for hats and a jacket. Originally designed for the purpose of placing over a door. Work great and quite inexpensive.

Tv upgrade complete!

Here is what I came up with for the flat screen install.

Thanks for the guidance guys, between your ideas and a few of my own it turned out great.

43" fits nicely.

Cheers
