2007 Seneca 35GS cracked linoleum

So I pulled the trigger and gave a deposit on this Motorhome... The owner called and advised me today that the floor in the bathroom area has a crack that spans from one side of the hall to the other. Does anyone know why this happened? Is it structural?

Hard to say what is going on but its not good or normal, I would be asking for my deposit back unless its one sweet deal.

Cold weather, it's happened before to others. You can easily look under the linoleum to check the plywood. Good price too!

We just sold our '08 35GS. The price is okay, but we would walk away from that one.

it happened twice in two years to me in a trailer.. this year I will have to replace it ... it never moved sat all winter but the cold again this year must have contracted the wood and caused it... looks like you can deduct some more from the price... I have no leaks or any structural issues...

like the one you have i just glued it back down and sealed it up..

Yeah, I would be very careful and look under that crack before anything else.

We live in S. Alberta where the winter temperatures can be extremely cold. I personally have seen this happen to 2 different trailers setup on our acreage. I believe it has to do with the trailers sitting on blocks for the winter, that is blocks at both ends BUT not blocked near the wheels. I say that because one trailer was purchased 8 years old used and the floor was OK until our first winter of ownership set on blocks.

Most people do not realize this flooring material is brittle (like glass) when extremely cold and cannot tolerate any change in stress while cold.

Here are two more posts about the same issue, one from 2014 and one from 2015 only in trailers
