2013 Greyhawk 31 DS water filter

Anyone know where the water filter is located on a 2013 Greyhawk 31 DS?

I have been told that it is behind the water utilities in the back storage area. Just got our 2012 last fall and have not had it out yet this year. I will have to search for it, too. I think that you need to open the compartment in the back to get at it.

I thought it was under the galley sink area, but now will have to research it. We also use an in-line filter with our hose hook up.

It is in the rear storage compartment behind all the water hook ups. You have to remove the back wall of the water compartment to get to it. I have yet to do that and just use an inline filter instead. To me it was too much of a pain to get to.

There are two removable panels in the rear compartment. They form an "L" shape with the forward bulkhead. Remove the smaller one that faces the right side of the motor home. There should be 6 or 8 screws. Some in the bulkhead and the same number in the other panel facing the rear of the compartment. The filter is right behind this smaller panel.

Just to help this discussion along, I attach a picture of the filter with the panel removed.
I am not crazy about this design, and may think about modifying it, but i am not sure you have to change the filter often enough to make it worthwhile.

It's sort of funny sometimes it can be a real pain trying to find something you need to service or use on a camper... In forethought when I bought the new tt I thought through all the mechanicals in advance and ask where everything was located before I left the dealership. A couple of the things I ask about none of the service people had the answer to. Thank goodness for forums with people that have gone through the search and found the answers.

So is mine. What a joke. The piping and electrical was so wrapped around it It was almost imposable to use the supplied wrench. Had to move the electrical, and re-pipe some of the water lines to make it accessible. Some major PPE here. Not "Proper Preventative Maintenance, but definitely " Piss Poor Engineering".

I opened up that access panel (in the rear luggage area) yesterday and in the 2011 31DS it is not there. I found it up underneath the galley sink. Ours is a smaller in-line filter as opposed to a vertical cartridge style unit.

In our 2011 DS it's in the galley, under sink. We also connect a filter on our water connection, double filtered.

Jayco engineers/technical writers should be reprimanded for not blatantly displaying this location in the owners manual. My goodness I cant believe that owners have to rely on each others help on this blog to perform routine maintenance. The owners manuals are painfully generic, as much as you pay for these RV's they should provide comprehensive manuals, shame on them. Thank you folks for providing this great info, including the pictures.

The design is the way it is and that rear compartment requires you to use a left-handed upside down wrench just to get the darn thing out!

After taking a good look at the galley cabinet filter if I have to replace it I'll use just a piece of tubing and simply rely on my easy to replace in-line at the source filter. Dreading having to remove the galley filter a true pita.
