2013 Greyhawk 31FS - Slide stuck out

I was camping this weekend and my bunk bed slide got stuck out. I hear clicking from under the bed so I suspect it is the fuse running to the slide. My front slide works fine (we'll 2 months ago the dealer had to replace the inline fuse on that one). So I have a bunch of the fuses the dealer said to purchase but when I went to install one to fix what I think is wrong with my rear slide, I could not find it. I opened the compartment underneath to the access panel and could see the slide motor and everything but there was no fuse to be found. Does anyone know where they put the fuse in line for the rear slide of the 31FS?

I did pull the slide in manually (what a nightmare to get a ratchet on the bolt to turn it) so I am home now but I want to get it fixed up.

The way that I would approach this would be to look in your owner's materials or call Jayco to find out who manufactures your slide.

Then I would see if I could download the slide manual from the slide manufacturer's website. That should include troubleshooting, schematics, and visual examples.

Once you have resolved your issue, I would try to sign up for a repair class by your slide mfg.

Another alternative is searching for Youtube videos on that particular slide.

You can research this and other forums, by what not do what a good tech would do, like me???, and that is to gain access to the troubleshooting and repair manual for your slide.

If you can't follow their manual, then I recommend starting a bit more basic and learning basic rv tech skills. But I'm kinda weird that way, focusing more on specific technical resources and less on putting up forum questions. Not all should follow my independent diy approach.

Tip up the bed and remove the panel covering the spaghetti bowl of wiring behind the power control center. There are fuses in the power control center for the slides, which are 12v. If an inline existed, I owuld bet it is in the nest of wiring hidden behind that panel under the bed. Let me know what you find.

All the poor guy wants to know is where is the fuse.

I don't think insulting him as some poor guy is appropriate. I think teaching people to fish so they can catch for themselves is better than handing them the fish.

I wanted to post my results so hopefully it will help others. The model I have (31FS) has 2 different slide manufacturers. The front slide has a fuse in line which you can access underneath one of the outside bays. The second slide does not have a fuse. My issue was a loose wire close to the motor. A new connector fixed it right up!

Thanks for the feedback. Some basic knowledge and common sense can fix many problems in rv's and everywhere else.



I would feel pretty bad if I had to call in a "expert" to find a blown fuse. In fact I have been there and done that long ago on a dishwasher.
