2014 grayhawk 31ds running on generator question

while camping on generator I have an issue with tv shutting down whenever coffee pot cycles even with ac off. Of course I have the same problem whenever ac cycles when using it . This happens wether I am using a 2000 generator or a 3500 generator and this past weekend when I was using a new 5000 watt generator and no ac on. My recourse has been to use a Jackery power pack on the tv to be able to watch news and weather in the morning. Am I the only one with this problem

Doubtful that a 2014 has this.

This is odd. Even the "worst" coffee pots, I've seen suck only 1500 watts. I can understand why your 2000 might dip a bit, but the 3500 and up should be able to handle it.

I think I'd check for a voltage drop at the TV outlet when the pot kicks on. But to answer your question, no, this doesn't happen in our 2016.

If I overtax the generator, the generator "groans" before it shuts down. I don't lose our TV

On a side note, I know people love their particular pots as much as their children, but I switched over to making coffee the Pour Over way. My wife found a small, portable water pot that heats two cups in a jiffy and only takes 600 watts.

IMHO - a pour over coffee is far better than anything else and so easy to make, clean up, etc.
