I bought a 2014 CR-V AWD as a dinghy for my 2018 29MV. I removed the skid plates so I could run my wiring inside the plates. The rear plate had an 80 lb bag of sack of concrete inside of it. I have never heard of this before.
Could it be for; smoother ride? Better traction for AWD? I’m lost.
It's very common to have tubes/bags of sand or concrete in the bed of a truck during the winter here for traction. I've never seen anyone put something on top of a skid plate. That's definitely a new one for me.
