Question 2015 Seneca 37TS Engine Monitoring Systems, RECOMMENDATIONS??

G'morning... My wife and I have just moved up (for the fourth time: Jay Feather --> 325 BHS --> 365 BHS --> now) to a 2015 Seneca 37TS. This is the first "Ride in the Rig" coach we've owned. A whole new experience!

Coming from the "tow" side of the RV family, I have an Edge Altitude programmer installed in my 2005 Chevy 2500HD. Along with programming, I had the ability to monitor various engine statistics like Exhaust Gas Temps (super important), Transmission Fluid Temp, Engine Coolant Temps, etc... I noticed on our test drive of the 37TS that the instrument panel has LIMITED gauges (although there are three "blank" gauge spots) for monitoring the engine's systems, etc...

I've done LIMITED research, but it looks like an OBD II Link with smartphone app may be an alternative. Does anyone have experience and/or recommendations on this?

Thanks!!

SCAN GUAGE has one specifically for diesels. Not sure if you would need that one or the SCAN GUAGE II.

PS: Our daughter & family live in Wildcat Reserve and we love Chatfield SP.

Thanks Grumpy... Neither of these systems SEEM to reveal the Exhaust Gas Temperature, which is the one item that I ***THINK*** I want to monitor the most (this was true in my 2005 Chevy 2500HD when pulling my 2011 JayCO 365BHS). In a "self-propelled" rig, I ***ASSUME*** that's an important value to keep tabs on (especially here in the Rocky Mountains). Do you have any "auxiliary" gauges in your 35GS?

Just the SCAN GUAGE II, no EGT. In order to put that on the KODIAK you have to drill the turbo inlet and add the pyrometer. From eveything I've seen on Diesel Place and else where the only time EGT monitoring was critical on the Duramax was if you added a tuner and upped the hp, which I didn't do, I bought the SG primarily to get a better trans temp reading. Have you checked with Cummins to see if the pyrometer probe is already in place or if the turbo is pre-drilled and plugged?

Forgot to add, did you check with SG to see if EGT is a DIY programmable change?

I have 2015 Seneca HJ. Scan gauge D does lots of stuff. It does not have exhaust temp. The truck does have a high exhaust light that will show during regen if stopped at a light etc. I sent in what scan gauge calls pids. They are to send me whatever can be checked through the X gauge part of the unit. Scan gauge D has what they call X gauge capability. Do not have those back yet. You can read about the unit on line. So far pleased with the unit.

I agree with greyhawk885. The Scangauge D does a pretty good job of tapping into the Seneca's on-board computer. Unfortunately the unit can't control the computer, but for the price it does provides a lot of useful information.
