2016 Greyhawk Enhancements

Hey All,

I'm considering a 2016 Greyhawk 29MV. The following is the enhancements to the 2016 MY. Some are pretty substantial:

High Gloss Cream Fiberglass w/ matching trim
One piece fiberglass roof
7500 pound hitch
Oversized frameless window on entry door
Larger bathroom window on (too many models to type)
Enhanced front cap to roof transition
J-Ride PLUS: Hellwig helper springs, rubber isolation mounts, computer balanced drive shaft, Bilsteins, sway bar

New decor - Almond
Glass backsplash w/ Jayco emblem faintly shown
Sugar magnolia Solid surface countertops
Nightstands and dinette table w/ newly introduced Calcutta Laminate color
New furniture style and designer arms
Modern LED lights in ceiling
New Valances, plus a valence in kitchen
Deluxe thick foam mattress, Jayco spec'd
Quick read monitor panel
Water pump switch now both inside and outside
King Control Jack TV Antenna
All dinette and night stands/bed base have USB receptacle
Net pocket on 31FS bunks
Additional Burl applique to door and cup holder in cockpit
Lowered bed height 5" on ME floorplan
40" LED Furrion brand HDTV - Tv is shaken to 3Gs on a machine numerous times, before passing climate test where it is frozen and then directly heated to 80 degrees
MCD rollder shades (removed mini blind)

Deletes:
Exterior TV brackett
Gas grill / bracket / hose
White fiberglass option
Denver mattress brand

The Denver mattress is JUNK ! Wish they had got rid of it last year. Ended up having to purchase a new mattress.
We looked at a 29MV. Didn't have much storage. Went with a 31 DS which basically has a built in "Garage" !

Happy to hear the mattress was junk !!! I'd hate to drop this kind of money on something and have to lose the mattress right out the gate.

The LED lights are an energy saver, very good.
The even bigger entry door window is not good, unless it comes with a shade to block the sun light and heat. We are always blocking ours to keep cooler plus let the kids sleep in.

I'm a fan of the fiberglass roof. Went I went up the ladder to check it out, it has one seam on the front and one seam on the back. That's it (aside from cutouts for vents and such). Also it has a popcorn ceiling like texture on it.

Also, both our TVs have been subjected to freezing temps and well over 100 temps many times, plus off road bouncing, and both still work fine. I think they simply found a cheaper supplier.

Probably - I haven't read my threads about people's TVs dying prematurely on them.

Oh, at least on the 29MV the larger slide is no longer a Schwintek. Just the very small queen bed slide (the slide is the width of the bed; so very light). I understand there have been Schwintek issues w/ larger/heavier slides.

2016 E450s have the 6 speed Torqshift. I think thats a HUGE upgrade; and not reserved just for Greyhawks.

Same here, little pissed as dealer didn't mention new model upgrades! (understandable)

I was actually going to start negotiating on a 2015 MV that was on the lot. Than they told me it was sold but a 2016 arrived that morning.

The rest is writing itself. Sometimes things line up.

Hey...wait for the 2017 Greyhawk...it will be way better LOL
The moral of this story is it is all Marketing Planned Obsolence....to lighten our wallet...just my two cents.

As well you should be happy w/ it. Its a fine machine. Of all the things listed I'm personally happy w/ the fiberglass roof. But there is nothing wrong w/ the 15s (or the 14s or the ...).

I wonder if the day will ever come when a class C gas coach has a combo washer/dryer option? Would like to see that.

One thing I love with the 2016 Jayco enhancements is the much lighter interior wall panelling; it really brightens up the look of them.

Be sure the LED lights have a dimmer and a wall switch. Our new Montana has overhead lights that are too bright and have no dimmer and others that can only be turned on at the light. Both of these are inconvenient.

Not sure about the design of the entry door. but I have seen some that eliminate the screen door and give you a small screen opening in the main door. In summer, you want the large amount on ventilation the screen door provides.

day 3 of our first Camping experience with our new 2015 Greyhawk 29mv...
Love the power awning with LED lights....we added more LED lights in slide out bedroom....Jayco did ceiling LED's only...I swapped out those old 12v. bulbs for LED's in the microwave surface light, the shower, the bedroom overhead storage unit...the kitchen counter lights, and all the storage compartments below...weird they only do stuff sorta half way.
Our 15,000 btu AC is working great here in 90 degree plus weather in the NW.
happy safe 4th of July Fellow Jayco folks.

I like a brighter interior too. Our 2011 is lighter. Looks like the exterior only comes in darker colors, not good in the hot summer sun.

Hey Stev,

I too, am replacing all my lights to LED but I ran into a problem on the overhead kitchen counter lights on my 29MV. What number are they ? I accidentally rubbed off the number when attempting to pull out. (The single and double overhead counter lights). Boy, the counter lights really make it warm when turned on. Same was the issue with the overhead bed reading lights. Once I changed those....Boy, what a difference.

Thanks again for the assist.

S/
Rick
