We did not. We wound up just buying a decent regular mattress and cut part of the old one off to fill the gap where your feet would be. We fold it up with a rachet strap and hook it it the overhead cabinets for travel. It's a little bit of a pain but it's sooooo much more comfortable than the original. Were full-time so a comfy bed is important.

I will check out those links though. Thanks.

Thanks this is inovative. There does not seem to be a more cost effective, quality way to replace this bad design. I guess that is what we get for buying number 97 in a run. I have rebuilt the cabnet frames and now my drawers dont fly open. I am sure you have worked successfully on your portable house, too. Any way if I modify your design that makes daily teardown easier I'll letyou know, Best Idea so far. Thanks again. Dale

Sure thing. I should have taken a snap last travel day and posted it. I can take a snap of the mattress tag later if you want. Sitting in the pool at the moment having a beer and reading. Life is pain.
Lmao.

We have a 2017 24L and solved our problem of the uncomfortable mattress by just using a 4" foam topper over the top. When pulling the slide in one of us had to hold the mattress in the folded position until almost fully retracted. You can work out other ways to hold the folding end up if you want.
