2016 Melbourne Headlight Adjustment FIXED!

No idea why I never tried this sooner. Hoping to finally brighten my path, purchased the Philips X-treme Vision +130% Headlight Bulbs. While installing them, I noticed the little plastic philips slotted parts on the light housing. And wouldn't you know it, I inserted a screwdriver into the lower one, turned clockwise and the light slowly rose up. It couldn't have been any easier. The reason I never tried this before was I was afraid it wasn't used for that and I was going to mess something up. Also when I looked up how to adjust the beam, my searches found either "it had to be done by a Mercedes dealer”, or it basically couldn't be done. Maybe these were posts on the 2500 Sprinter or something. Whatever the case, adjusted both of them and drove the 24K back to the storage facility where the road was finally lit up enough for night driving. No one flashed me either so they must not be too high or too bright. Amazing, been driving at night for many a mile and a 5 minute fix was all it took! Hope this helps others with the same issue. The new light bulbs did appear to be a little brighter but the adjustment was all it really needed.

It amazing how well they work if they are pointing in the right place.

I had the same issue on my seneca. They were nearly half as high as they should be. I doubt that Jayco aligns these after they build the house and there is no way the chassis manufacturer could estimate the final adjustment.

Maybe that should be added to the PDI check list. Save a lot of frustration and improve safety.

Thanks for the solution and great pictures and write up. Was this the screw I mentioned in the other thread or is there 2. How many turns did it take?

There are two screws on each housing, the one on the bottom of the housing is your up and down. There is another one higher up to the side (not in photo) for the side to side. I'm glad it was the lower as the the other one looked a little tougher to reach. However the up & down was easy breezy. As for the actual amount of turns, I just started turning (makes a slight clicking noise) until it was 1-2" higher on the garage door - not quite "Mercedes precise" but no complaining.
