2016 Seneca FK Refrigerator. Error LO DC

I had a problem with my refrigerator, when I turn it on I get LO DC error. I checked all DC voltage and could not find the problem.

I called the dealer and they were not sure what the problem was.( They said I need to bring it in to be looked at).

I called Jayco customer support and they new of the problem.

The line that supples 12volts to the Refrigerator is on a circuit that is shared with other 12v systems. The fix from Jayco is to run a new dedicated line from the DC fuse box in the Bedroom to the 12v circuit board on the refrigerator. I ran a temp 12v line from the battery and that fixed my problem. Jayco is going to send me the parts for a permemant fix.

I hope this helps.

I had the exact same problem. Took the dealer two hours to fix it. Works perfect now. They told me it was a ground wire.

Good information. I have had the same problem. Dealer hasn't been able to fix it yet. I will let them know to contact Jayco for a fix.

jxn2083....WELCOME TO THE FORUMS & CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SENACA.
Thank you for your post on the Lo DC error code on the fridge. There have been many that have had this issue and now you have provided a fix.
One question: when did you notice the error code? Ours only showed up after we had been on the road running the fridge on propane. Now we have stopped using the propane while driving and we use the generator for power....no more issues.

It only occurs when your not using shore power nor generator power and the Refrig is running on propane. Turn off shore power and give it a few minutes and you will get the LoDC light. Open the door on the Refrig for a minute or so which will cause the Refrig to start up. Then you get the light.

Thanks D&MAKAFUN.
For me, The problem happens when I am using shore power or propane. I read that it could be cause by dirty DC power on the refrigerator power line. But,Not sure if this is true. I had 12.8 volts on the circuit and that error should appear with power beow 10v.

My DC voltage was good at the DC bus but not when the line got to the Refrig. The line was pinched between the bus and the Refrig. The tec found the partially broken point of the wire and repaired it. End of problem.

I called Jayco customer service today, because I did not receive my wire & connectors yet. Roger (Customer Service) said there is a new fix and he emailed it to me. See below.

In regards to the refrigerator, this is what our shop technicians do.

· Behind the load center, located below the wardrobe (see photo), you should find the wire harness.

· There will be 3-4 green wires of the same size

o CO detector

o Bathroom Light

o Refrigerator

· Cut the green wire until you lose power at the fridge

· Connect back any green wires that were not for the fridge with but splice connectors

· On the back side of the load center there will be open ended black wires that are numbered

· Pick one and identify the number

· Attach the green wire to the black wire

· Put a fuse in the spot that corresponds to the number on the black wire

2016 Seneca FK Refrigerator. Error LO DC

Nice, keep cutting green wires until you find the right one to the fridge.....

This fix does sound easier, faster than running a new wire. Just not fond of the approach to identify the right one.

Jayco said:Put a fuse in the spot that corresponds to the number on the black wire

Some day that fuse will blow and the poor guy who owns the RV will never find it. Does not sound like a good way to repair the problem to me.

Why does Norcold tech services not have this information? We just returned from a dry camping trip. When we switched from the generator to propane all seemed normal but by mid day the next day the fridge was getting warmer. Checked the flame looked good shut fridge off when turning back on got low dc code that went away and LP come on. The fridge never got cold until we were back on shore power. Needless to say we lost all our food in the fridge. Does this sound to be the same type of problem.

It sounds like the same problem I had. I would get the low DC error on ac or propone. I did not do the final fix from Jayco. ( cutting the wires. Early in this post)

What I did notice is when the outside temperature is 40 degrees or higher the original 12 v wire works fine.
