2017 Greyhawk 29ME water filter
Hello,
I just obtained a 2017 Greyhawk 29 ME. We love it. When I pressurized the water system, there was a profuse leak spilling onto the ground from underneath. I tracked it down to the water filter house which was loose. (In the rear storage compartment behind a panel. What a job to find. I snugged it up and all is good. Some other mentioned they bypassed the internal filter and used an in-line on the water hose. How did you bypass the internal filter. Any advice is appreciated.

I used my rig for a year without the filter being in the canister. I thought the filter that was provided in my owner's kit was a spare but I was wrong. Jayco just didn't bother to install it for me.
So yes you can run without a filter if you want. I personally feel better having the filter in there and change mine every year.

I cut and added an access panel to service the water filter. I remove it every fall when winterizing, and replace it every spring.

So, it seems I have a choice, use the in line filter buried in the belly of the beast, or just by pass it and use one on the water source hose. Anything wrong here? Am I missing something?

Just that the blue Camco "inline" filters don't really catch any of the nasties. They're filters in the lowest sense of a definition.
The inline filter that came with ours is a decent one. While not producing 100% pure, it does a much, much better job of filtering out the goobers you don't want in your water.
If you're hooked up to a quality source of water all of the time, or you drink bottled water, then not much reason to use the internal filter.
Besides, the "I've been drinking out of garden hoses all my life" and "I rode in the bed of a pickup truck" people will be by shortly.

Yep - I guess it depends on what nasties your worried about. 20 micron's is pretty big. The inline filter does 5.
If you're serious about filtration, then that's too large too.
You'd ideally be about 10x below that.
