2017 Seneca RV Refrigerator Doors

We are on the road and have been hitting some pretty rough pavement causing our double door RV refrigerator doors to come partially open and allowing the temps to rise in the fridge & Freezers.
How do you recommend we keep them closed. the built-in locks are a joke. I am thinking of putting hooks on the sides and using Bungee cord but would appreciate any other ideas.

Roy,
We had a similar problem in our Seneca but discovered the reason was too many Blue Moons on the door. 😁. Seriously though, we did notice that if we had heavy items left in the door it would come open on bumpy road conditions. We started unloading the door before any long trip and have not had a problem since. That being said, I did add that to the list of issues while we are currently at Jayco Service. I’ll post something if they report a fixed problem.

What's been said about removing as many items as practicable from the doors before travelling helps minimize the dynamic loads on the doors. We had a different issue with our Norcold's left door (the one with the swinging mini-door contraption that seals beneath the right door). The bottom hinge receiver on the left door cracked and disintegrated, allowing the door to fall off its hinges when opened. I can't believe Norcold designed this hinge with plastic! So we're working to get a replacement left door under warranty.

In our recent FL<-> WNY 3200 mile round trip we used a couple of those plastic grocery bags and tied them through the door handles in addition to the built in door lock.

We also made sure that nothing could move around with a combination of using those spring loaded bars and strategically moving items to remove any slack space.

This is what I use to keep the doors closed.
