2018 30 XP Water Pump

DW had what appears to be a failure of the water pump while camping with her sister. Thinking it burned out trying to prime as she recalled it turning on once she switched over to "normal" in the utility center, and still running when she got back, eight hours later. Trying to get ahead of the power curve and order a replacement. Cannot find the make nor model in any documentation. Any help from the forum? Also upgrade options? Would like to but do not know what level of water pump is already in there. Recommendations much appreciated.

Add on question, is the stock pump a "fail safe model"? i.e. can run dry and not burn up? DW just sent me a pic depicting the good old strainer as the culprit of a leak. It was cracked and broke off when she tried to hand tighten it. So ordered one from Amazon. Maybe no new pump after all?

First year I had my current TT, the water inlet filter screen housing was microfracture. As the summer proceeded, it would suck more and more air, but never leaked. Pending what broke, you might be able to just replace the threaded cup.

Pending on where that inlet filter is located in the MH, it can be a pain to replace, only do the poor placement choice of the pump.

I cannot guarantee, that you have a fail safe run pump. Lots of people including myself have accidently run our pumps for many, many hours sometimes days running it dry and have had no issues.

Surflow is a common one. Get the pump that meets your needs. They range in price and output.
When mine failed I got a killer deal at my rv dealer, someone never used it, and it happened to be an upgrade to mine, snapped it up.

UPDATE:

Turns out it was caused by the water pump strainer. Evidently cracked and did not allow pump to prime. Photo provided by DW helped me get ahead of the powercurve and order one from Amazon. We needed it fixed as we rent ours out on RV Share it goes out this weekend. But low and behold CW Savannah had one left in stock and we were able to snatch it up. Still have spare coming from Amazon though. So in the end no need for a new pump.

Thanks for the update. A lot less expensive fix compared to the cost of a pump. Your pump is a Shurflo Revolution, looking at the picture. They're run-dry capable without damage and have thermal protection that'll shut it down if it does get too warm. Our pump has accidentally been run dry for hours with no ill effects.
