2018.5 37RB fresh water tank drain...

Can anybody tell me where I would find the Fresh Water tank drain on my new 2018.5 37RB? I have found the low point drains for the water system and water heater but no drain. I have removed bulkheads to see both sides of the tank and looked in ever compartment and cant find anything!

Although mine is different than yours, the fresh water drain was clearly marked albeit on the passenger side in other than the wet bay. Look at the upper corners of all the basement bays. Mine is not readily visible.

Yeah I have gone over every compartment several times. I can see one side of the fresh water tank from the wet bay and on the other side, I removed a panel and can see the other side. From the wet bay side I can see the 3 vent lines coming off the top and find them hangining underneath the chassis. I have searched all over under the chassis looking for a tube hanging down or a valve......I’m beginning to think there isn’t one. Sending an email to Jayco tonight.

2018.5 37RB fresh water tank drain...

Can you see the feed line into the tank. It should feed into the bottom of the tank. If you can find this, then trace it out of the tank and there should be a tee. One side runs to the pump and the other to a valve.
Can you take a photo of the side where the vents are? In the past that is the side that the fill/drain port was located as it is on the bottom of the tank and that was the only location that hung over the edge of the support.

I have a 2017 RB and the fresh water tank drain in mine is in the back right corner behind the sewer connections. It's out of sight if you have your sewer hose stored in front or it.

Well, starting to think they might have forgotten to put it in.... I have emailed Jayco to see what they say. The only odd thing in the wet bay is this, label says low point drain and a cover that looks like it would shroud a valve but nothing is there.

Edit: now that I think of it, when I picked the unit up, the cap for themancerator hose end was setting in this little white cover, maybe hiding the fact that there was no valve there???

Well here is a picture of mine....looks like it was forgotten. looking straight up from the point to where it should be, I see coupler that splices 2 blue hoses together, one end of the blue hose is marked with red tape and it looks like this marked line runs to the bottom of the tank. RVermont, dont know if its possible but can you tell me if the line that is your drain runs up to a tee on a line with red tape on it? If it does, then it looking like somebody screwed up and coupled this line instead of a tee with a drain....

The photo was from a unit at the dealer this morning. I can try to send you the nautilus panel so you can determine if that is the correct line for the drain. Based on your photograph it seems
Like maybe they did forget the drain.

Well I started searchingads on the web tonight looking for pics of a RB model. I found one and sure enough, they never put one when it was built! Hopefully the blue line with red tape on it where I can see a splice is where the tee should go for an easy fix by the dealer. Here is a pic of my wet bay and then a pic I found of another 2018.5 37RB.

Well it’s been confirmed, they forgot to install a fresh tank drain on my 37RB! All the local places are a month out to get it in for service.....

Kind of a silly thing to miss.

Hopefully you don’t need to sanitize or drain the tank or water system for the next month or so.

It is pain to work in the bay but depending on the efforts to get the unit to the shop you might do the work yourself. In my case it is an hour drive one way so I fixed a few items myself to avoid the cost and time to get them repaired. If you are willing to do the work call jayco and see if they will pay for the shark bite fittings and valve from the hardware store. These are about $25 vs the pex fitting they would use at about $10. Then simply cut the correct line and press on. Working in the bay is a test of your flexibility.

I installed shut off valves on the lines to and from the water heater so I can shut it off and drain the heater while traveling in cold weather.

Whatever you choose to do good luck and safe travels.
