2018.5 Seneca – S2RV Cummins HP rating

I have a 2018.5 on the S2RV chassis with the Cummins 360HP engine. I installed the ScanGauge to monitor trip information. One scan option is the horse power (HP) output. I have monitored it on a trip through Colorado and Nevada and have not been able to record a HP output higher than 280HP. Typically, the HP output never ranged higher than 265HP. I monitored the HP when pulling hills (5000 ft - 7500ft), pulling out on the highway under full load and taking off from stop signs using full power. Since this HP monitor option reflects HP recorded from the computer, this is engine HP and not rear wheels HP. I expected to see more.
Has anyone else used this feature on the ScanGauge?

I saw that gauge and tried it with the same results you got, I read a little on it but decided I never really would use it. From what I read the Scangauge just has a generic code in it for reading HP and is not engine specific. If it is something you really want you can have the Scangauge record the PID data and then you can send that data to Scangauge and they can analyze the data and make it more engine specific and possible find other gauges that the ECU can output. I mainly use mine for oil pressure, water temp, trans temp and the 4th I use fuel average or boost so I never spent the time to send the data in to Scangauge. The info is on their page under x-gauge commands if you are interested.

Thanks for the reply. I use it similar to you, looking at temps and overall fuel mileage but read about the HP monitor and thought I would try it. I probably won't send to ScanGauge.
