If it ends up costing a few hundred bucks more per unit, we've all seen way more crazy price hikes very little return on that price hike. At least you'd get furniture that would perform as any reasonable person would expect.

Or, like I said. Go back to cloth or a microsuede. I personally wouldn't find it objectionable at all.
They're not likely going down that slope. That's an admission the standard coverings suck and they're currently playing the denial game. But I agree, there are plenty of synthetic leather options that don't fail in 2-5 years. Problem is the RV industry is inbred first cousin to the trailer house industry and trust me, if there's a cheaper alternative, they'll find it and use it. Remember the aluminum wire fiasco? The particle board fiasco? The butyl tubing and butyl connectors fiasco?

The following is the email I received from Lippert components.

It appears that the buck is being passed around. Do you have contact information for Lexington products since Lippert isn't claiming ownership for the INFERIOR seat fabric. I hope one day as a consumer you get stuck with furniture like this junk and see how you like it. It's disgusting what you do to the public. This is the final Jayco junk that I'll buy. I'll be sure to pass this information along on all the social media platforms that I can. I can see customer good will is long past.

Sincerely,
Kenneth R. Fuller

Hello Kenneth,

Thank you for contacting Lippert. I apologize that you are not happy with the captains chair fabric material.

Unfortunately, these are Lexington products. Lippert does not quote parts for Lexington products to retail or dealers.

You will need to refer back to your coach manufacture which is Jayco. If outside of your warranty as Jayco stated they can assist you with purchasing a complete chair cover for your passenger chair but they would need to be the ones to purchase that for you through us.

Thank you,

I'm looking for front seat covers and have zero luck finding any. One place looked promising until they found out it was for a Jayco model. They said Jayco puts their own chairs in and that company does not make covers for that style. Theirs fit seats with adjustable headrests. Mine does not have and adjustable headrest.
Any ideas short of reupholstering?

I ended up finding a canvas shop that did boat covers/tops and they said once boating season was over (in the north) that they would tackle the seats, reupholstering them. They charged me $300 per seat and they look like original equipment. This was the only alternative I could find to keep things looking great.

I've had no luck finding "perfect" fit covers.

The best I've been able to do (without spending $$$$) is a Universal Cover that says it'll match the headrest style.

I've had 4 new RVs over the last 15 years.

I've always applied generously a good vinyl conditioner to all the 'leatherette' surfaces and never had any issues with flaking, twice a year, more often to surfaces exposed to the sun.

A worthwhile investment IMHO.
