2018 Greyhawk Refrigerator

2018 Greyhawk,Norcold fridge,,using on A/C power, set temp on 6 of 9 max setting. Turned on for 3 days (36 hrs) and door not opened . Opened door today and Freezer temp on 2 different thermometers was at 6 degrees. Outside coach temps have between 85 & 75. Coach is kept in partial shade. Is this Freezer temp pretty normal ???

At those settings, yes, I would say it is normal. Do you feel this is a problem?

As long as it doesn't get too thick. Ice is a good insulator (Igloos) so when the ice gets thick it lowers the efficiency of the freezer.

We defrost between trips only if the ice covers all the walls of the freezer. Just turn it off, leave the door open and in our case, I put an old beach towel inside to absorb the melting ice. Next day, I pull it out, wiping down the sides, top and bottom and still leave it open to dry out until a few days before our next trip.

Frankly I never checked our temps. As long as stuff froze and stayed frozen, that was good enough for me.

Are you expecting 0* F?

Put a thermometer in the fridge section, and check that. Fridge temps run from 40 down to 32 degrees. I run my fridge right around 34 degrees, based on how often it's opened. When set at that temp, everything in the freezer stays frozen. I wouldn't worry if your freezer is either 5 or 7 degrees. Both are way below the freezing temp of 32.

I keep a remote temp sensor in the freezer, the display is mounted by the RV Thermostat. Temps usually run between -3 to 6. Once every 24 hours the fridge will go into defrost mode and the temp rises to about 14 in the freezer. Then after a while it will go back down to near 0.
