Exclamation 2018 Melbourne Prestige electrical

Hi everyone. My husband and I are prepping our Class C to take on a trip tomorrow. It’s been in storage since the end of December plugged in to shore power. We plugged it in to our house plug via an extension cord as usual. As soon as he plugged it in, a circuit blew. We’ve tried resetting it many times to no avail. He disassembled the bed to reach the converter and inverter but we can’t seem to find what the problem is. We think it’s the converter since it’s not coming on. Has anyone else had this issue? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If it was plugged in when you had it in storage and it didn't blow then there has to be another problem. Possibly the extension cord or your outlet at home.

We just drove back to the storage unit and plugged it directly in to the plug and it still popped. We wanted to rule out the extension cord as well. We also left it unplugged it from shore power, ran the generator and it drilled popped. Looking more and more like the converter. Since we’re leaving mid morning, we are having a mobile mechanic come out tonight.

you are tripping the GFI circuit that you are plugged into. some RV do not play nice with two GFI circuits in series. Try tripping your bathroom GFI outlet off in the RV. SEe if the shore power stays on. let me know.

the converter can't come on because of the tripped shore power.
