2018 Redhawk 31 Pinging

Under load my RV seems to be pinging. I only have about 6k miles. Does anyone else have pinging on their v10 Ford?

I am running regular for fuel. Anyone feel they needed to go to high test?

This is in still reasonably warm weather of 70 degrees.

Hi Kocomo (Beach Boys right?)

I would suggest to read the thread listed as "e-450 engine rattle - serpentine..." here in the class c forum. A lot of us have had noise that sounded like pinging but was the fan belt causing the noise. Your issue may be the same as a lot of many of us have encountered. I am not sure where you are (must be a southern area based on the temps you are having), but be sure to use 87 octane or better, some places, especially in the mountains have their regular gas at 85 octane. I suspect you are hearing the belt fluttering, does it most around 2200 rpm on mine, give or take a couple hundred rpm. ~CA

Yes we are in Florida. Just loaded up to go to Daytona for the road race. I had my fill of winter growing up in Syracuse NY.
