2020 Seneca changes

The Jayco website has been updated with a page and pictures of the 2020 Seneca. Shows the new front cap with window. Looks like a nice addition. Can anyone spot other changes?

I would think that window would allow a lot of heat to come in. I wonder why they don’t go with a lighter color on the front cap to reduce the heat.

one HUGE slide on the passenger side... with the kitchen, furnace, water, Fridge, Washer/Dryer, Wardrobe, LP on it... and all the storage stuff you put in it is on the passenger side. I wonder how much that slide will weigh when this thing is fully loaded????

I really like how roomy the super slides look inside but I would really worry about all that weight on one slide. But some high end coaches have them so I guess they work.

Answer via e-mail from Jayco:

---------------------------

"The generic brand name for the motor is ‘Power-gear’ on a ‘rack-n-pinion’ slide mechanism. That is a 12 volt motor that we have used for a couple of decades and have been very successful with."

So it is a Shwintek/Lippert product ....

My 2014 TS has 3 "Power Gear" slideout mechanisms, produced just before before Power Gear was absorbed by Lippert. Hopefully Lippert left that product line well enough alone and they will still be a trouble-free system as mine have been.

AMEN!

Our 2015 has two slides, but nothing ruins a trip more that slide motor problems.

Plus if any of my Power Gear slide motors quit I carry the tools needed to manually crank them back in. It might take a while, but I'll get it done! I am unsure what you can do with the in-wall systems.

I totally agree with having a lighter color on the cap. Window on the cap is a very poor choice. Hope that it is an option. The swirly paint designs are looking very dated.

My understanding is the front window is standard.

Newmar's new Super C...the Super Star

I'll bet the 2020 design is being influenced by the Newmar Super Star, ie. cap window and full-side slide. The Super Star is a beauty if you've got $350K. The cab floor is level with the house floor and the entire cab is on air, along with air seats (oh...the air leak potential...hahaha).

That is one great looking truck. I like the entry step cover. I don’t understand how they can make an air ride cab connect to a stationary coach.

There is a flexible "accordian" boot between the cab and the house .....same as used in Semis with air ride cabs and oversize sleepers.

All that engineering and $$$ but it has the the heating vents in the floor .....

Why am I not surprised. I already know how much better my Seneca is over our old Winnebago tour. It may not have all the bling I had before but I'm a lot more comfortable. One thing I wish Thor would do is offer a light color paint choice. I live in the southwest and would love to have a color that doesn't heat up so fast. I swear you can fry a egg on the side of a Seneca on a sunny day.

Smile

Now that we have a 2019 37K and like it very much so far... I would be most unhappy if they changed the color to lighter like white because I would have loved to have much more white! And it would not be practical to trade just to get the lighter color. Selfishly speaking! hahaha But he sure is purty when his black is all shiney.. for 24hours.

SO TRUE!!!

We find that we have to push out our awning just enough to shade the side of our Seneca, the dark colors suck the heat like crazy. I've also been pondering putting a partial wrap on ours that will still match the paint scheme, but lower the heat load on the upper portions where it is dark colored paint.
