Unhappy 2021 Jayco Melbourne Prestige radio times out

Just bought the RV from my father-in-law and want to use the radio when the RV is off. Press the radio power button like it says too and it turns on but only for 15 minutes then turns off. Couldn't find anything about this on the web or in the manual. Dug into the multi-media programming too but nothing.
Am I missing something here?

You'll probably have to post the make and model of the head unit. My Jensen will stay on, forever.

On a camping trip my grandkids were playing with the radio. Somehow they got into the controls pretty deep and my GPS was turning off after 5 minutes. Not knowing they had done that, I was about to throw it out the window! But found it and reset it to not turn off after five minutes. Go to settings, and start looking at everything until you find it. You need to know what it can do anyway.

Sounds like you are powering it off the chassis battery. Turn on the main 12v power to the coach battery and it should stay on. If that is what you are doing, then maybe there is a power setting in the head unit that needs to be changed. A 2016 Melbourne with a Pioneer head unit stays on as long as the coach power is on.

Edit: Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase.

Unhappy 2021 Jayco Melbourne Prestige radio times out - update

Thanks for the replies.
The radio is the stock Sprinter (base chassis) one installed by the factory.
The House batteries are on and looked at the Settings on the main screen.
There is no option for Radio on timing or such.
When the ignition (vehicle running) is on there is no problems.
I'll call Jayco again with the issue and see if they can provide any more help.
Just frustrating but worst things could be happening.

It could be a faulty solder on the circuit board.

Brian, It sounds like you are trying to turn off the key and run the radio. Most vehicles now have a built in timer. Key off and 10-20 minutes then it will power down to keep from running the chassis battery down. Sounds like that van is designed that way. So, either leave the key in and on, or find a new on all the time circuit to connect the power to.

2021 Jayco Melbourne Prestige radio times out - Mercedes time N

Thank you for the reply.
Spoke to Jayco and they haven't heard of the problem.
They did say that they the radio in my RV is the stock one from Mercedes
Sprinter (base model the built on) and I'll have to call them for farther help.
I agree its a "don't use up your battery precaution but have the house batteries connected and the sites 120 V connected so...
not the end of the world but would be nice to have the outside speakers on with some soft background music going.
