2200+ mile trip
Took our first multi-state run over Thanksgiving in out 2012-31FS. Had a really good time and learned more about our Jayco. One, you dont see too many Jayco Class C's running around. If I saw a Jayco, it was a JayFlight trailer, or a Seneca.
First time we ran in cold weather (at least for us it was cold ). Learned to use the heater and how to bundle up.
Driving in the mountains and hills was not a problem. The V-10 did great. Seems the colder the air and the later at night, the better it performed.
Ran regular, and super gas, both ran about the same... result was about 7mpg on the average.
Also learned to stay away from Tuscaloosa Alabama on a game day! However, traffic caused us to take a nice day trip to Tannehill State Park and check it out.
Also learned park reviewers on some sights seem to be too danged critical of places and expect perfection in the places they stay.
We stayed at some places that had some bad things said about them, but they were great.
150 car pile up on I-10 made us re-think our driving practice and think about slowing down or stopping to be the best option at times. We were not anywhere near the accident, but it did happen on a spot from our route. 2 from our hometown were killed. We did not know them, but it still struck close to home.
over-all it was a great trip. The kids enjoyed it and were not bored until the last hours before home. (cant blame them). Lots of memories stuffed in our kids minds and that was the best part.
