31FS Clock Addition

DW and I saw a need for a real clock in the RV. Went to Wal-Mart to pick out the best they had to offer. Settled for a nice simple variety.
Problem was hanging the darned thing. For some reason thse 3M strips dont stick well for us.

I ended up taking the clock apart and using the pieces. We did actually end up replacing the clock mechanism as well (FromHobby Lobby). So basically the Wal_mart clock was used for the glass cover, face and bezel.

Hopefully my pics of this installation will make it into this post.

We always use those 120VAC atomic setting clocks. They always have th correct time on them... They also have the large face plate type like shown in your photo.

Nice install. I used that area to install a barometer that was in my father in law's boat. we have a clock installed on the wall right at the entrance door to ours across from the command center and another in the bedroom. we have not had any problems with using the 3m sticky hooks and my wife has used them to hang a buch of those plaques with different sayings on them all over. i usually put some of that sticky putty on the bottom as well to keep them from rattling but in almost 2 years nothing has fallen off yet. take an alcohol wipe to the wall 1st incase there is any film on the wall and try it.

Clean the wall 2 or 3 times with alcohol. Let it dry and then install the hook. I have had 2 battery operated clocks hanging in my camper for 2 and 1/2 years. The other thing I did was add a small round "anti skid" rubber circle (about 1/2 inch in diameter) at the bottom of the clock.
