There are ways to tap into a closed system and recharge but to do it right you need the proper equipment. If the system is low it means there is a leak somewhere so finding and fixing the leak is probably the first priority.

2019 shouldn't need freon yet. Why do you think you need freon??

You can tap into it, a Service Tech will not, because it is illegal, if he is not certified and have all the right equipment. Too much liability for him to take that chance. All they will do is offer to replace the entire unit. You can do that. If you are talking about recharging the Roof A/C.

I would double check the correct refrigerant you need, I would suspect you need R134a (you don't want to mix different types of refrigerant). Also, as others have mentioned, you shouldn't need any additional refrigerant with such a new RV and keep in mind that more refrigerant than the exact amount needed will not make the A/C any colder, in fact just the opposite will occur.

If you wanted to be for sure if you are low on refrigerant (and/or have other issues) and wanted a DIY solution, I would purchase an A/C gauge set perhaps this one or one like it. Also, you will have to purchase your refrigerant if needed, however with only the gauges you can determine the pressures which will help you know if you are low on refrigerant.

FYI, my GF's van A/C wasn't blowing as cold this year, A/C pressures were fine, no problems with the A/C could be found, then I found that the heater water control valve was passing and allowing the heater core to heat up when it shouldn't have, replaced the heater control valve which resolved the issue. Point being, the gauges can help you determine if the issue is with the A/C or if you should look elsewhere. What issues are you having? ~CA
