Question Adding Battery - frame mounting

We are considering adding batteries to our Greyhawk 31DS. I stumbled onto these which I have never seen before, anyone have any experience with them ?

Is it plastic or metal?

Adding batteries is one of the most important things I have done to my GreyHawk. I added 2 additional group 31 batteries on my back bumper in an RV Armor Battery Box that I purchased from them online. It is a very easy installation and a great way to be able to service the batteries, as well (this is the only problem I can see with the units you are looking at). I simply ran a heavy positive and negative cable from these, along the frame, to the compartment where the original group 31 battery is and connected the positive and negative right there. I like to dry camp and now can do so for as long as I wish by running the generator for coffee in the morning and in the evening for microwave use. I have stayed out for over a week and have never had any concerns with the batteries. It is the best, of many, mods that I have made. The box is a little pricey, but when I consider how long I will have it and how well it is made, its security, as well as what it does for me, I feel it is well worth the expense. Or, you can use anything you choose to mount them with. I hope this helps. Click image for larger version

From their website:

"Engineered as no-drill installations with quick disconnect electrical connectors, the system quickly attaches to the truck's frame under your truck."

I would not want to crawl under a truck to work on it.

Mike - I stumbled across that too. It has me very interested. Enough so that I crawled under our 31FK and scouted out some spots where they might attach.

I'd prefer to have the extra batteries fairly close to the existing one. I like the idea of putting the extra weight in between the wheels too.

What put me off was the $275 for the one that looks like it'll fit our RV.

I've got a friend who can weld and was thinking about heading over to his place with a 12pack and offer to buy the materials.

I agree to much $$, I will make my own or modify the compartment next to the battery tray. One thing I like is I can't see why it would void any warranty, and could be removed easy with little evidence it was there. If I do make my own that is one feature I will try and keep. Just thought I would throw that out there.
