Mark which campground are you heading to?

You don't want to dive SLD with your rig attached more than you need to. There are several bridges and narrow, sharp curves that I would not recommend while towing. There are several access points and would recommend going to the closest point to your destined CG location. There are numerous CG's in the valley that are very nice and give you quick access to the park via the access points to drive and enjoy the parkland. Wildlife includes bears, eagles, hawks, deer, birds and other smaller creatures with overlooks on both the east and west sides of the range.
To really enjoy it wait for a blue bird day and start early to get the best wildlife views. Be patient, stop a lot and do at least one of the hike paths. Then you can eat lunch somewhere within the park and drive back to see it all again.
We spent about 7 hrs and stopped at Skyland with another at Big Sky for lunch. The entrance from Luray does have a low bridge right as you enter. Not sure about southern more points like Stanley.
