Could have swore it had settings of:....low cool/high cool/low fan/high fan.

If I put that control on "low cool" would that mean a low fan setting and the A/C is doing it's thing? (compressor on)

And "high cool" being high fan speed and the A/C doing it's thing?

I am in the desert SW, where high humidity is as rare as saber toothed tigers, save the time a thunderstorm rolls through.

Yes that's exactly correct. The only thing that changes is fan speed.

The air conditioner ran about 4 hours yesterday; temp set to 75; fan on high. The inside of my RV stayed at around 80; not bad but, not particularly cool. No ice/water ran out.

I'll be in the Knoxville area for the month of April; will have the unit checked while there.

Many thanks, all!

Air conditioner update: I called an RV tech. He confirmed: air conditioner doesn't cool. The unit will be replaced tomorrow.

Hope this post makes it to all the good people who helped me with this problem.

AC unit doesn’t cool HOW TO FIX

Symptoms: Noisy, air doesn’t blow, slightly cool air barely blows, and it’s 80 degrees inside, your dog is panting, your wife is too hot to make love. It’s 4am, your slightly drunk, and your depressed because now you have a looming $1,000 bill to fix your AC when your saving or trying to pay down bills.

I got your back!

FIX: Turn off AC, You will hear a cracking. That’s Ice build up. Soon you will see water dripping. Turn off for a couple mins then switch to fan high only. Wait for air to blow normal takes about 20 mins. You will feel the wind and noise that sounds like grinding stink bugs or a blender will go away.

It will start to cool instantly your dog will cuddle up, your wife will get under the covers, and you will be saved! Now turn on high cool at 75% full power. Leave it there and your AC will work perfectly!!

LOL!

Ours ices up too. More frequently that the last one did.

Oh yeah, I've already been down the $1000 road that you avoided. Unfortunately it wasn't ice that was the death of the first one.

This weekend We found the middle separator had fallen and the AC was recirculating the cold air. Wish I would have taken picture but I know you get to this separator from inside and take the grills off

The separator baffle falling down is a common occurrence. "Press fit" didn't work for me, neither did "press it back and add duct tape".

I finally built a rigid "T" support behind the baffle.
