We have been there a few times and it is a great place to be. We also like to visit Chincoteague while camping on the Assateague Va. side. They are not too far apart.

Our Golden Retriever couldn't understand why there were ponies walking around outside of the camper.

In the national park there are 2 dump/water stations. In the state park there is one.

We were there 2 summers ago. Had a great time. Generators are allowed from 8-9 AM until 10:00 PM. We got the trailer nice and cool then just ran battery operated fans. Still comfortable in the morning. Do not let food outside. Ponies will help them selves.

The ponies are WILD! There are signs everywhere warning you not to feed or approach them. They can become aggressive and will bite in a heartbeat without displaying any signs beforehand.
