Atwood water heater

I just replaced the ten year old water heater in our 02 Granite Ridge and to say the wiring on the new water heaters has been changed would be an understatement. I put in a 96163 gas and 110v with electronic ignite. My dilemma is the three 12volt wires that run to the old water heater are not "hot". No ground that I can tell although there is a white wire, the other are red, that was connected to blue and a 14ga. brown wire. Any help from someone who has rewired one of these water heaters would be appreciated!
