Jeep Wrangler, you can take the doors, roof and sides off some models.

+1 for the Wrangler. I love BOTH of mine

You can look at Motorhome Magazine for towable guides going back quite a few years. The vehicles listed are generally ones that include instructions and procedures for flat-towing in their manuals.

Check out this link:
https://www.motorhome.com/download-dinghy-guides/

Other vehicles may be flat-towed, but you'd have to find/create the procedure outside of manufacturer recommendations.

Since the OP asked about a convertible as a TOAD my question is flat tow or dolly tow? There may be more options available for dolly towing than for flat towing.

When you throw the automatic transmission into the equation it eliminates most convertible cars with a CVT transmission from flat towing.

What year Pilot do you tow? I have a 2010 EX-L Automatic that I wouldn't mind towing as opposed to buying something new.

Mine is a 2004 with just 139k miles

Totally worth the $4000 to get it done, and my pilot is great to haul any Xtra stuff like fishing and my zodiac

That's a really good point.

And if you tow it on a trailer, it REALLY opens up your options. But then you have to be careful with the added weight of the trailer. Plus where to store it when you're not using it (at home OR at CG).

Bottom line: 4-down is not the only way to "skin this cat".

If I may hijack this string (and I apologize for doing so), what did you need to do to it? Did you have to install anything for the transmission, or was that $4k for the towing/braking equipment?

Mine has 144,000 miles on it, so I'm just starting to break it in!

On page 65 of the manual, I think that page, it discuss 4 wheels down towing
Nothing to do besides the towing system add

So it's a great option for towing

I tow a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder. Not quite an automatic but there is no clutch with SMT. Fun to drive but getting harder and harder to get out of.

I bought it in 2015 ready to tow. Looks like two holes in the front grill so that you have access to the "receiver" and the guy who installed ran wires to the rear for the lights. We thought about a Jeep because the Spyder is getting harder to get out of but we will keep until someone has to help us get out. It only weighs 1900lbs and some change so we don't need a Brake Buddy in most states. I bought a used Brake Buddy but found it a hassle to install and keep up with. If you need one on whatever you end up with I will make you a deal on this one.

Good luck and safe travels.
