Auxiliary Start button

Can someone supply some information on what this button is for, what does it start? The button is located on the lower left dash area near the left knee area of someone sitting in the driver’s seat.

If your chassis battery goes dead pushing and holding it will allow you to start the engine using the house batteries. It closes the battery isolator relay that closes automatically once the engine starts that charges the house batteries when your are running the engine.

It connects the house battery to the chassis battery when you hold it in via solenoid. If the chassis battery is dead you can start the coach with the house battery. If the house battery is dead you can start the generator with the chassis battery.

Use it like you would employ a jumper cable. Hold it down for a minute or more to allow charge to flow from the house battery to the starting battery. The cable sizes and length would typically not carry enough current to start the engine on the house battery alone.

I have never seen that said. That sure makes a lot of sense. That explains why it didn't work for me the first, and only, time I tried it. When I get a chance, I'll try it again.
