Awning LED light On&off with door

With our 2020 Melbourne Prestige- tonight I turned the awning LED lights on by opening the door and flicking the switch on. When I closed the door the lights went out. I open the door they come back on, close door and they go off.
Don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but we usually sit under the awning, but tonight we moved over away from the RV to sit by the fire.
Sounds crazy I know but that’s what’s happening. Anyone have an idea as to what may have possessed my awning lights.

If your coach has power steps that react with the door opening or closing, I wonder if it's wired to the wrong side of that switch? What happens if you open the door, shut the switch off, then open the door, go inside and close the door, then turn the switch on then? Just a guess.

Could be as simple as a loose wire the door movement moves?
