Backup Battery in 24K Melbourne

I’ve installed a backup battery for extended dry camping. Easy job. I just ran 4gage cables from the power center into the trunk under the bed. I also installed a switch so when we do dry camp I can keep it switched off until until the main battery runs down. I’m working on installing a 20 lb propane tank as a backup right now. Stay tuned.

Do you swap the batteries or how is the 2nd battery connected to the house?

Edit: I think I got it now. Did you add a switch to disconnect battery 1 or does the main disconnect do it for you?

I only have a switch for the backup battery. When I do need to turn it on I’ll disconnect the negative terminal on the main battery. I was going to install a dual switch between the main battery and the backup but I didn’t have a good place for the switch because it would have to be in the bedroom because of the way the coach is wired.
