Bathroom exhaust fan

Bathroom vent...on our 29MVP my wife can’t reach the power vent to open it. I can reach it but boss can’t without a step stool. Funny they put the switch on the wall but you have to manually open it.

In our last travel trailer we had a power vent that also opened with the switch on the wall.

Has anyone replaced the cheap factory exhaust fan for a better fully automatic one?
Wondering if the hole sizes are the same? Like I said I have a switch on the wall so there is power for it if it would work?

I replaced mine with a fantastic fan. The hole is a standard size for anything you want to put in it, that is designed for an RV. I also used the factory switch and all works very well.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In the meantime this might help. We have one and it eliminates the need for DW to use a step stool.

Thanks Scotty! I knew someone had to have had this same problem and engineered a cool solution. I’m ordering one of these until I have time to replace the vent!

The shaft on mine was the same size as those on some home window cranks. Got my 4" extension cranks at Home Depot.

Another option. Might not be low enough? Thanks Bigiron...I might give this a try first.

Yep, I did see this kind of device at my local RV store. I'll give it a try too. I can reach the crank, but it's just the Mrs. that has an issue.

Thanks for the photo and 2nd option.

I left the bathroom vent open once and we left for the day. It rained very hard while we were gone. Came back and the water was running out the bathroom into the front of the cab. After that, I installed vent covers on the bedroom and the bathroom. Now we can leave the vent cracked open and wife can just flip the switch to turn it on. Don't have to worry about rain coming in either.

Vent covers are a great idea! I think the Auto ones have rain sensors. So many great options.

How do vent covers work and what brand do you have? Do you have a picture of one and do they work electronically?

Vent covers mount on the roof. They allow you to leave vent open without worrying about rain getting in. I installed Fantastic Fan Vent covers over both the bathroom and bedroom vents. Installation is not very difficult. Here's a pic of the ones I installed. They are available in black, white, and smoke colors. You can see them on the roof.

I ordered the Kwik Stik from Amazon after reading these post. Received it yesterday. It works great. A good inexpensive solution.
