Battery access

My two batteries in my 29V have all the cables fastened tight on top of the batteries. No way can you check water level of fill.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding the issue correctly but it sounds like you have two choices: reposition the cables or disconnect them each time you want/need to check the water level.

If I understand the problem correctly your battery cables are coming over the top of your batteries laying on the battery caps. Are the cables long enough to reach the posts if you reverse the battery position so they wouldn’t be over the caps? A picture would help to get a solution to this problem.

If the cables can't be repositioned then replacing the nuts with wing nuts will at least make removing the wires a no tool process.

12V lead acid batteries use water fast compared to 6V and must be replenished often. And, 2 batteries have 12 cells to fill. They are a PAIN.

If you have room, install terminal posts and use the appropriate length battery cables from an auto store to route cables out of the way. If no room then use proper size stainless bolts, nuts and washers to connect coach cables to extension cables and wrap junction with electrical tape.

My 2022 Odyssey battery compartment is not tall enough for 6V golf cart batteries and I plan to replace with 12V deep cycle AGM batteries when these die.
