Battery Box Power Lines?

I swapped out the stock lead-acid battery with a LION Energy UT1300 in my Redhawk 24B (Also installed the Victron BMV-712 batter monitor). As you can see in the attached photo there are 4 cables coming off the positive terminal. The red flexible cable is the main 12V cable that I believe connects to "Battery" terminals in the distribution panel.

I'm trying to figure out what the other three black cables with red electrical tape connect to. I suspect one must connect to the Converter terminals in the distribution panel, one must connect to the alternator. What about the last cable? I'm at a loss. The 24B doesn't come with an inverter or a solar charger. Any ideas? Any suggestions on how best to determine what each cable connects to? The only idea I can come up with is to disconnect it and try and see what doesn't work anymore.

There are also two cables that come into the battery box but aren't connected (the white cable coming out of the batter box on the left side) and the black thin cable at the top.

I've asked Jayco for the 12V wiring diagram and got a "Layout, 12V" drawing that wasn't very helpful.

Appreciate the help,
-Brian

  1. Converter
  2. Battery disconnect solenoid > DC fuse panel
  3. Auxiliary start solenoid > chassis battery>alternator
  4. Generator starter
The unconnected wires might be provision for solar..

I have a white wire not connected and I was told mine was for solar.

Do you have leveling jacks?

Yes, we have the automatic leveling jacks. If they require a direct connection to the battery and @Bullitt6283 is right I should have 5 cables connected to the battery. oh no.

Any recommendations on how to determine where each one goes other than unhook and see what no longer works?

I looked at another wiring diagram and I revise my previous rsponse...
  1. Converter and Battery disconnect solenoid
  2. Leveling jack pump
  3. Auxiliary start solenoid > chassis battery
  4. Generator starter

See attached diagram... It's from a Greyhawk, so YMMV.

Thanks @Bullitt6283. This makes sense. Looking at your diagram, I'm thinking I may want to rewire those black cables (if they are 2-4 on your list) to connect to the other side of the 150 AMP circuit breaker I added in place of the 100 AMP fuze that was stock. That would allow me to pop the circuit breaker and disconnect the battery completely. Not sure I can wrangle those stiff cables over to that location but will give that a try.

Mine are direct connected to battery.
Because of the amp draw.

Today I was able to investigate the three cables connected to the battery. I disconnected all three and then connected them one at a time and looked for what worked and what didn't to determine what each cable did.

Cable A in the diagram which I originally thought was 2 cables is just one but uses two smaller cables to connect to the main 12V breaker panel and charger.

Cable B connects to the generator. I was only able to start the generator when Cable B was connected.

Cable C connects to the leveling jacks. With all the other cables I got a low voltage warning on the leveling jack control panel whenever the engine was running and control panel turned on. With Cable C connected I did not get that warning.

One interesting find: whenever the engine / alternator was on the entire 12V system in the rig was functioning regardless of what cable was connected. This tells me the engine / alternator is wired into the 12V main break panel. I also measured 14V on Cable A whenever the engine was on so charging of the batteries, whether via the converter, generator or alternator must come through Cable A.
