Battery disconnect

The battery disconnect switch went bad. I took it out but now I have no power running to it and can't operate my electric step. How can I just bypass that switch? I had already installed a battery disconnect on the battery under the hood.

To bypass just bolt the 2 wires together that you took off the switch. That's if they have ring terminals on the end. If not you could wire nut them together but it will take a grey wire nut.

Disconnect the cable from the battery first, to prevent arching.

I intend to do that, but for some reason there is no power going there, so if I connect the two wires there will still be no power.

What color are your wires?
It is possible that your switch is disconnecting Ground (- Minus side of the battery) in this case you will have no voltage from either wire to chassis ground.

Your MH may be different but my battery disconnect switch is momentary and goes to a relay. So touching the tow wires together should toggle the relay. Touch once and battery is connected, touch again and battery is disconnected. Since you've already installed another disconnect switch just "make" the relay and then leave the wires disconnected.

RV wiring is not standardized when it comes to wire colors.
Since one is white, I would say the switch is breaking the minus side so you will see no power on either of these wires.
So this brings me back to your original post. What makes you think your battery disconnect switch is bad? Could be blown fuse(s).
