Battery issue?

2018 Greyhawk 29mv. Won’t start generator, radio want turn on, no battery to refrigerator. Bought new battery. Same problem.
Two mobile RV repair guys said invertor or converter, do t remember. One said $400: other said $600. No extended warranty.
Does this sound like it could be the problem? I’m a single woman and not mechanical at all.
I’m hoping just a ground wire.

Don't let those mobile techs rip you off! Your problem is NOT the inverter and probably not the converter. Look for a battery disconnect switch that may have been accidentally activated. On my 2017 Greyhawk the switch is right inside the door and is lit up..

When plugged in the converter will supply 12 volts to everything. When not plugged in the battery will do the same thing. Either can work without the other.

Please let us know what you find before paying for a repair.

I can think of a number of things, that may cause this. As you mentioned, a bad ground wire from the battery to the chassis frame. Disconnect switch, flipped off or bad. The generator also has its own circuit breaker, have you checked it? That breaker has nothing to do with the radio or frig.

Many MHs have a switch that allows you to use the chassis battery to start the generator. Have you tried it?

Does your interior lights work, when Disconnect from shore power? If they work, probably not the ground wire.

I would not expect the transfer switch as thay is a pure 120 v ac system and the radio (12v dc) does not work. No direct relationship. Inverter, doubt it, it converts 120 volt ac power to 12 volt dc. So your genny could start, run, bit not power any of the 12volt stuff. Converter, converts 12 volt dc to 120 volts ac not much to do with the genny or radio.

Should have asked earlier. Do you have a residential or rv frig? A residential frig only works on 120 volt ac power. Rv, built in, uses 120 volt ac, or propane with 12 volt dc.

I have a meeting now, but have more thoughts.

Slip of tongue or temporary brain freeze?

INVERTER - 12 volts converted to 120 volts
CONVERTER - 120 volts converted to 12 volts

I will call it brain freeze, as I could not remember a coworkers name this afternoon. And I did not have time to really proofread what I wrote.

Thanks for correcting me

Can you plug in to shore power?
On my Greyhawk the generator will not start if I'm plugged into shore power.
Any other lights work?
My fridge works on 120 or propane the panel display works on 12v.
Make sure your power switch (battery disconnect) is "On" mine has a red light.
hope this helps.

Stay with us and we can help.
Pretty sure someone here has had your exact problem.

Like others have said, let's debug this one step by step.

In addition to the other questions, tell us:
- are you plugged into Shore Power or not?
- what electrical things work (lights, fan, TV?) and what ones don't.

You should have a panel like what's in the picture below. Tell us what color the LED light is and what the numbers are in the panel?
