I heard that on the later model 2019 Grayhawk MVPs, the house battery has been relocated to underneath the steps. Is this true? Does anyone know if Jayco is considering configuring the motorhome to hold two batteries instead of just a single battery? It would be very helpful if they did.
No, the Thor was a new rental we picked up at the Thor factory and rented/transported to Alaska 2017. Turned it in to place up there that rents them. That experience with a Thor unit turned me away from that brand. We bought a 2018 Greyhawk 31DS in August. Lucked out. Couple had bought it, ordered special, After putting a thousand miles on it wife got ill and could not travel anymore. Has two AC units. Seems to have all the “new” bugs taken care of. Lay out is perfect for us.

Probably weld up a custom battery tray to replace the stock one in the stairs that will fit the 6 volt.

Don't feel bad as they are too tall to fit in the 2019 tray as well. Had to sell mine with my trailer and use 2 group 24.
No, only two group 24’s will fit under the steps. There is a center piece that you can cut and fit a single group 31. I added a second group 24 and the system in marginal for dry camping unless you have good solar or plan on using the generator.
I will be modifying my battery tray soon in order to fit two 6 volt batteries.
My 31ft Redhawk battery box is wide enough for the 2 golf cart type 6volts, but not deep enough. My dealer said they take them to a welding shop an they lower the base about 2 inches. I didn't want to do that so I had to special order 2 6volts that would fit from local parts store. You would think it would come deep enough from the factory.
Funny I put a long and heavy Reology in that spot and count understand why I could close the lid, yesterday I realized there was a spacer there haha, walked that out and perfect fit. I cant understand why I never noticed it before. Jayco has the strangest things they do.
