Bay door locks

So we just bought a new to us 2018 37TS on the new S2 chassis. You can not just walk up and put a key in any of the locks on the storage compartments and lock or unlock them. You can not get the key into the lock.. I have two factory keys and to get them into the lock you have to get a small screw driver and push the little flap that cover the key hole out of the way. Once you have it out of the way you can work the key in by pushing and jiggling the crap out of it.. I mean like a solid 20-30 seconds of jiggling it to finale get it in to work the lock.. Every single compartment lock is like this.. None of them work like they should anyone else have this problem. Its bad enough that several of the lock you just can not get the key into. This is a coach that had 4,600 miles on it.

Spray some silicone lubrication into the lock and on the key. After you get the key in work it in and out a few times. Repeat, the locks brake in fast.

I would recommend dry graphite lock lubricant. It’s available in a tube and spray can. I used the spray on my locks. It works very well, but can be a tad messy.

Ours was the same way when we first picked it up, I was having to use the tip of my pocket knife to open the little flap. After a couple times of lubing it up they now work just fine. I am sure they are not lubed at the factory’s at all and most units probably spend 6 months or more setting on a lot in the elements. The best stuff I have always used is the 3in1 dry lube, it’s clean and doesn’t attract dirt and I also use the 3in1 slide lube.

Ours was the same also, very frustrating.
I also used graphite and it is much easier now.

The best thing to do is use the key frequently and apply lube. I apply it the latches and the locks. Also be sure to apply lube to hinges as they have the potential to freeze up.

Enjoy the ts. We enjoy the heck out of ours.
