Best material for sound & heat improvements

I have read a lot about reducing heat and noise in class C RV,s.
My Jayco 26Y has significant "hot floor" and noise problems.

I also found a myriad of choices on amazon for materials ....

What have those that insulated floors and doghouse found to be the most cost and functionally effective materials to perform this insulation?

I used the Noico 80 mil mat covered by Dynamat Hoodliner for the doghouse. Sourced both from Amazon here:

On the floor, I used a thicker product, Noico Red 315 Mil, here's a link:

I had plenty of material leftover. Could probably add some more to the wheel wells, firewall, etc if I wanted. There are a couple of threads here somewhere if you search from others who have done this. I took the seats out of the cab to make it easier. They come out easily but you need a Torx head (maybe T25?, but I can't remember for sure).

With the search section, in the gold bar at the top, you will find a list of "dog house" insulation topics along with photos and suggestions for the floor of the cab also. The search section is not always user friendly and I have found that I have to try several different wordings at times.



There are few, if any questions that have not been covered in one form or another and "search" does save some waiting times for answers.

Yes, I tried many search terms and spent hrs going through 100's of posts most of which did not answer this question.
As I use this platform more I will ask less redundant questions.

Does this mean that you used two layers, one on top the other, on the doghouse i.e. Noico+Dynamat.

Sometimes with that search feature it takes more than a little "searching"
to find the posts. There other option that I used often is Google or your favorite search engine. Most times I find the solution with a good YouTube video to help. At the same time I did the cover, I did the floors.

Yes, exactly right. I put the Noico on first, then covered it with the Dynamat Hoodliner. The Noico is supposed to be good for noise and the Dynamat is good for noise and heat. I didn't have a heat problem before so haven't noticed much difference there, but it is definitely quieter in the cab.

I used DEI Boom Mat on the cab floor of my Redhawk. It is multiple layer for both thermal and sound insulation. I also used DEI exhaust wrap on the passenger side exhaust where it runs under the cab. My product selection is based on prior experience with custom and race car projects. My in cab heat problem is completely solved. Noise level is better, but not completely resolved. I sourced the DEI products from Summit Racing.

You will need a special socket to remove two of the seat bolts on each seat. Sorry, I don't remember the size. You can Google it. I got one on eBay.

Lots of choices out there. L8ke already stated remove both seats for a much easier and faster installation. I used the left over material to insulate the doors for sound. It was not that hard to remove panels and line metal with the same material. Take a look at the heat materials at summit racing. Racers have been dealing with the heat issue for a long time. Summit has a wide range of materials available. Safe travels
