Best stabilizing Jacks- Greyhawk 31fs
Hello. We just bought our 2010 31fs. Looking for advise on manual stabilizer jacks. This is our first motorhome. We moved up from a pop-up, then a 28' Sportsman, and now our Greyhawk.
Also, where's the best place to locate the jacks for stabilizing?
Thanks in advance! Tim

Not really enough info to go on. What levelers do you have? Bigfoot is what Jayco is shipping the units these days, but HWH would work too. Both have recommendations on placement.
If you are considering scissor Jacks? If so are they rated for the weight of the entire camper? Not many are that strong.

Thanks CarlB. It didn't come with and levelers or stabilizing jacks. I will need start from scratch. I looked at scissor jacks as an option. I'll Google the Bigfoot you mentioned. Is HWH a brand or style of jack? Thanks again for the response!

I would ask your dealer where jacks might be placed. They should (at least in theory) know where they can go on your specific model.

Bigfoot and HWH are brands of levelers. Not sure the cost of them for your unit, but the HWH system for my old winnebago view on a smaller sprinter chassis was like 4grand, if you went to their shop for Instalation.
As I didn't have an extra 4k loose in my account, I just settled on one of the setups that used a cinch strap to hold it steady and take the side to side sway out when parked.
I then vowed my next unit would have levelers, and it does. Some times I just use the manual setting to put down a solid base for when we park to cook a meal.

Thanks CarlB, your right, not cheap on the Bigfoot or HWH. I'll look for other options, but may pull the trigger on hydraulic levelers. We have owned a pop-up, and 28' Sportsman tt with manual scissor jacks. Hydraulic stuff is new to me.

I am older and don't like having to crawl under things unless I gotta, so the hydraulic ones are the way to go. Plus it helps your resale value on your rig. The ease of use is great, I just push the automatic button, bark at everyone to sit still while it sorts it out, then run the slides out when it's done. Many times it will lift one or both front tires off of the ground entirely. My point being, knowing what I do now, I would eat a lot of Ramen to get them of I had to... :-)

looks like a much more compact control panel. Auto Level | Motorhomes | RVs | Equalizer Systems | A Days Company | Official Site

A cheaper method is to look for a level site at a CG you want to visit before you actually visit. I have a GH 31 ss and so far we've gone about 60 miles away from home, just due to time constraints (wife still works) lol. We go on sunday drives and visit/inspect various CG's that strike our interest. We make notes on level sites, and request those when making reservations, makes leveling a lot easier. Still have the sway and bounce to some degree, but I've gotten over it for the most part. LOL

Thanks Jimp. Grandkids might like the sway and bounce.
