Bigger fuel tank?

Hey all. Now that I’ve got some miles under my belt I’m noticing things that I do not like. Our RV is diesel and we’re averaging about 10.5-11.0mpg with a 26 gallon tank. Is there a replacement tank that will fit our 2023 Mercedes 3500 170” wheelbase?

Additionally, if anyone is experienced with generators, would love to replace the LP generator with a diesel one. Is this a big undertaking, putting the cost aspect aside?

Thank you all.

26 gal on a diesel is, well anyway but that is what the put into the early Duramax. I changed that out to a 52 gal Titan but do not know if they make them for your situation. Let’s hope someone here has some experience but I would start Googing also.

Here is a recent thread on the subject where the member listed a replacement tank for the Sprinter chassis.

Do they make a diesel geny that's small enough? Don't forget the added weight involved with a diesel. Also you would need a tank that has the geny fuel pickup tube included.

Your MPG is surprising low. We get 15 - 16 MPG. Same Sprinter 3500. We love our propane geny.

Not sure what the "Sprinter" is but most all fuel mileage for RVs runs 6-12 with uphill being in the 4-5 so I guess you are in the money.

On my 2015, there is a port available on the fuel sender unit for an aux line. Not sure if they have changed in later years. Mine goes to my Espar heater. But, it could probably be tapped for a generator.
