Bizarre electrical issue.

Good Evening everyone.

I have a 2008 Jayco Greyhawk. It's been sitting winterized and in storage about 2 months. Every time I put it away for any length of time, I flip the inverter switch to stop battery drain.

Today I went to check everything out. Turned on the inverter and started the Onan.

Every duplex receptacle in the rv was hot except the one behind the tv set.

I checked the breakers, none tripped. I got out the manuals which were no help. After about 20 minutes I killed the Onan and about 20 minutes later restarted it. All receptacles worked.

I am happy that everything is working, but don't have that warm fuzzy feeling that everything is at it should be.

Any of you guys had experiences with this?

Thank You
The Boltman

The TV receptacle, could it have the 12V, relay in it to kill power to the tv if chassis engine is running? I wonder if the relay was stuck.

Was the chassis engine running when it wouldn't work?

I did not think about the chassis engine running, and yes the chassis and Onan were both running the first time, and the second time only the Onan.

Guess they don't want us watching tv while driving.

Thanks for all your replies. You guys are great. Hopefully I will be able to help someone here soon!!!!

Thanks Again,
the Boltman

Thanks 2008 Seneca.

I read the thread, and that's good information to tuck away in the cobwebs of my mind.

My wife says the older I get, I look like Mr MaGoo driving down the road 30 miles an hour slower than everyone else totally oblivious to the traffic buzzing around me. Watching TV while I drive would only make that worse!!

Thanks again to all who responded. You guys are the best!!!

The Boltman.

Hopefully you have found the solution, i.e. the chassis engine was running. Can you duplicate/verify that that was the issue?
Thanks, as well as to all who offered possible solutions.

Thanks Tumbleweed44.

It was because the chassis engine was running. I appreciate your response.
